- Burrowing Owls have been declining in numbers for many years.
- Habitat loss and prairie dog and ground squirrel eradication have forced them to be considered endangered or threatened in many areas.
- They favor flat open ground, with short grass or bare soil.
- They use the old burrow left by prairie dogs or other animals and nest at the end of the chamber.
Thacker Pass is ideal Burrowing Owl habitat.
One more reason to resist.
