Lahontan Cutthroat Trout by Travis London, Deep Green Arts
Lahontan cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii henshawi) is the largest subspecies of cutthroat trout, and the state fish of Nevada. It is one of three subspecies of cutthroat trout that are listed as federally threatened. They currently occupy a small fraction of their historic range. In the nation’s driest state, Lithium Americas plan to use 2,600 acre-feet (850 million gallons) of water annually, which will have a devastating impact on the fish, their habitat and water quality.
One more reason to resist.
